About Me

My name is Kurt Gardiner and I am originally from Upstate NY. I graduated from Skidmore College in 1989 with a BA degree in Mathematics and I now work as a IT Project Manager for a large Insurance Company in NYC. I have been at my current job for ten years and specialize in Enterprise Resource Planning and support and enhance the PeopleSoft HR systems for the entire company. I have a solid understanding of how business processes both private and public work systemically to increase productivity and how to integrate that using technology platforms. I plan to bring those skill sets to the table if elected.

I moved down to the NYC Metro area in 1994 (Astoria Queens) to establish my career in information technology and then moved to Hoboken in 2003 as a renter. I saw in Hoboken like many others who move here, a lot of great things and even more in terms of potential. I bought a condo in 2005 in midtown that had to be gut renovated and moved in to my new home in June 2006. I learned a big lesson in patience from that project, believe me. Nothing worthwhile comes easy and the same goes for reforming government.

Though I was not born and raised here I really feel that Hoboken is now my hometown and I have spent many hours of my free time advocating for proper policies that can move Hoboken forward. I have been active in watching the Hoboken political scene ever since I moved here and also have a political blog hobokenjournal.com. As a home owner and now a candidate I will be an advocate for the local taxpayer. I think that we need to prioritize the important issues and spend judiciously to provide the needed and desired services for constituents.

I now throw my hat in the ring to run for Freeholder of Hudson County District 5 to give Hoboken residents a choice in November for better representation for Hoboken and Jersey City Heights. An election that goes uncontested as it would have without me running isn't an election, its a coronation. I am proud to be able to run for office and hopefully convince you the constituent I am the best candidate for the position of Freeholder.
